Privacy Policy

This Privacy Notice sets out the basis on which personal data that is collected from and about you will be processed and stored to ensure that we maintain high standards of data protection and comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (2018).

Avery Associates is what is known as the ‘controller’ of the personal data that you provide and that is stored about you. We are registered as Avery Search Ltd under the company number: 12130884. We take your personal data seriously.

Who we are and what we do

Avery Associates is an employment agency as defined under the Employment Agencies Act 1973 and as supplemented by The Conduct of Employment Agencies and Employment Business Regulations 2003. We assist investment and advisory groups, alongside private equity portfolio businesses with the recruitment of permanent employees. We collect and process data from and about the following types of people and organisations for the legitimate purposes of search and recruitment activities which form the core of our business: prospective, actual and placed candidates, prospective and actual clients, suppliers that support our services, employees and consultants.

Data that we collect and how it is used 

Personal information necessary for the carrying out of our legitimate business interests includes: contact details, nationality, employment and skillset information, educational qualifications, performance and track-record information, CVs, references and compensation information. We collect your personal information in order to contact you regarding potential employment opportunities and to assist you through the recruitment process. We will not share your personal information with clients or any other party unless you have given us permission to do so.

When dealing with clients outside of the EEA we attempt to ensure that adequate safeguards are provided for in relation to the transfer and treatment of your data.

Where we obtain your information

We obtain your information from a variety of sources including when you send us your details via our website, when you communicate with us by phone, email or in person, and when you visit our website. We also obtain your information from other external sources such as LinkedIn, company websites, news and other publicly available sources. Additionally, we may be made aware of information about you from a reference or referral.

Data storage and retention

We have a confidential licenced database on which we store information about candidates and clients, alongside email and IT systems on which we store emails, documents and contact information. Only Avery Associates and its IT software and system support groups have access to data stored about candidates and clients and all of our systems are password protected. Whilst we make every attempt to keep your data secure, in the unlikely event of a data breach Avery Associates cannot be held liable. Should this scenario occur we will endeavour to report the details to all relevant parties within seventy-two hours or as soon as possible thereafter.

Unless otherwise requested, we retain information about our clients and candidates on an ongoing basis. Maintaining contact with both potential and current clients and candidates is imperative for the successful carrying out of our business activities. We attempt to ensure that our information remains accurate and as such, when processing data, we may contact you alongside accessing information in the public domain.

Data access, accuracy and deletion

You have the right to obtain access to your personal data at any point. You also have the right to have it updated or amended if it is incorrect; to request that we restrict its processing or delete your data from our systems. Avery Associates will comply as soon as possible (at the latest within thirty days) to any of these requests. When asked to remove a record from our systems, we will retain minimal information to ensure that we do not contact you or collect your information again.

Changes to Privacy Policy

Avery Associates reserves the right to modify this privacy notice at any point as permitted by applicable law. If there are material changes to the privacy notice we will post them here.
